Rodmarton School is a small primary school set in a picturesque Cotswold village location. We cater for children from 4 to 11 years of age, split into 3 classes.
We have a thriving, happy school, with small class sizes, where we aim to foster every child's natural curiosity in the world around them. Through a rich variety of experiences we aim to develop a love of learning that they will carry on with them through to adulthood.
Our excellent teaching staff is supported by classroom assistants in every class. This, combined with small class sizes, ensures that all children get lots of individual support. During August 1996 a mezzanine floor was installed to provide two additional classrooms and free the smallest room for a resources room, staff room, and extra teaching space. This is also now equipped as an ICT suite. There is a hard surface playground with popular 'Adventure' play equipment which the children enjoy. New office accommodation was added in the Spring/Summer of 2007.
A hectare sports field at the back of the school is used for games, athletics and play. The spacious village hall next door is used for assemblies, physical education and drama.
There is a broad curriculum for every age group. National Curriculum subjects of Mathematics, English, Science, ICT, Design, Technology, History, Geography, Music, PE, Art and Religous Education are taught. The staff help children learn a wide range of skills such as self confidence, self esteem and adaptability.
In our school we want pupils to feel safe, secure, optimistic and aspirational. They will be challenged, they will experience success, they will laugh, they will be encouraged to ask questions of themselves and others and reflect on the answers. |
