Educational Visits & School Visitors

Pupils take part in a range of visits related to work in the classroom. It is the philosophy of the school that learning is greatly enhanced by first hand experience.

The visits range from walks around the village to museum visits, pond dipping venues, a visit to the canal, Slimbridge, the Big Pit at Blaenafon, Chedworth Roman Villa, @Bristol, Bristol Zoo to name but a few.  In the Autumn term children go on a visit to see a Christmas production at the theatre.  Past venues have included the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, The New Theatre Oxford and the Sundial Theatre in Cirencester.

There are often visitors in the school to add to classroom learning. For example, a postman, a policeman or a fireman may come to talk about their work.  Arts week also provides an excellent opportunity to invite artists and craftsmen to share their skills.
