Transfer to Secondary School

Pupils leave Rodmarton at the end of Year 6 when they are eleven.  There is close liaison with the secondary schools in the area.  Staff meet to discuss curriculum work and to establish links.  There are visits to the secondary schools for pupils so they feel confident about where they are going, and secondary school staff visit Rodmarton to meet pupils here.  In Year 5 there are 'Taster Days' for the children to experience life at Secondary level.

Our pupils transfer to a range of secondary schools.  In September 2007 29% of our pupils will be transferring to Grammar Schools in Stroud (Marling and Stroud High), with the others being split amongst Cirencester Kingshill School, Cirencester Deer Park School, Sir William Romney's School and Malmbesbury School.
